: Staking your SOL with a validator currently comes with 0 risk. As of now, the worst possibile outcome you can have is the validator becomes delinquent and no longer provides returns.

In the future the network will implement slashing as a way to penalize validators who are acting against the interest of the network. To hedge against that risk in the future it is a good idea to spread your stake amongst trusted validators and stake pools.
